Ajpub'
Ajpub' is an acronym for Ayuda Juun Paaj Utziil B'eey, which means "a little help for a good path." The program helps economically challenged families send their children to school.
The program, as well as the hotel, was started by Ajpub' Pablo Garcia Ixmatá (Professor of Linguistics at Universidad Rafael Landívar) and his family. Professor Ixmatá got his start thanks to the help of friends and hopes, in turn, to help disadvantaged kids get the education they need to pursue their goals.
